P. AND T. CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The annual general meeting of the P. and T. Cricket Qub was held at the Post Office on August xS. The meeting was a Avell attended and enthusiastic one and indicated that the forthcoming season will find the club well represented on the field. A very satisfactory balance sheet was shown for the year, this revealing a credit balance of £10. Mr Alf Hayter was elected as patron while Mr Jim Rivett was again unanimously elected president of the club, and appreciation expressed of the great support he liad given since the inception of the club. Other officers elected Avere as follows: — Secretary: Mr EL Chard. Treasurers: Messrs T. Dixon find H. Jackson. Committee: Messrs N. Rigden, L. Bennett, H. Redpath, T. Burt, If. Dixon, H. Jackson and J. Rivett (jnr.) Remarking that several intending members were jiresent the president stated that there was an excellent outlook for the forthcoming season and the good old game would be carried on, although some team." would find that many of their players were overseas. He added that the interest in the game could easily be maintained by a little; effort from the club's supporters. The young lads and older men would be only too pleased to fill in the gaps rather than see cricket fadei out. The meeting decided to this year hold a dinner instead of a f)moke concert to wind up the season and the event is anticipated to be a happy one.
