LYCEUM CLUB
The president, Mrs Spence, presided at a very pleasant social afternoon held in the club rooms on Thursday last, the programme being arranged by Mirs Appleby and Mrs James. Songs were rendered by Mesdames Warner, Carter and James.
A very interesting and instructive address was given by Mrs James on "Debating and Public Speaking" and also an outline on the aims and objects of the Auckland Women's Forum. Two Beverley Nicholls sketches were presented by Mrs Appleby and Mrs Thomas.
Among those present were Mcsdames Appleby, Winstone, Ken-, Carter, Warner, James, Pearce, Steel, Roberts, Lucas., Hawken, Spence, Saunders, Auld, Morice, Conolly, Blair, A. Bridger, Misses Spence, Howell, Allan, Winstone. The afternoon closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
