DAIRY SUPPLIERS TRIBUTE LATE J. ECCLES; & F. J. REYNOLDS "They say that it is invidious to make distinctions but we do . know that from time to titme, men. play such an outstanding part in service to their community that their fellows wish to recognise the value of the part they have played!. Thel Board of Directors of the Rangitaiki Dairy Company felt that they could not allow the occasion of {heir annual meeting to pass without referring to the loss of two> men who have passed on in last year, and paying tribute to the very valuable work whiclx they performed for the company. "I refer to Mestsrs J. M. Eccles and F. J. Reynolds. If I were to attempt to describe our feelings, it would he merely absurd'. Many of us have lost personal friends in both these men, but I can say that in their passing the country and 'this community in particular have lost two men they could' ill afford to lose. "Mr Eccles regarded the company as his own and worked hard and 1 unremittingly to lay the bases of the sound structure we see to-day. "Mr Reynolds was a man which the Board l felt was capable of demonstrating to all visitors to the district the potentialities of our area. Another service he rendered to the Company was his careful and thorough search for a veterinary surgeon upon the occasion of his holiday in Great Britain. "I ask you now asl a tribute and as a mark of respect to stand in silence with me for a few minutes." Mr lan B. Gow, at the annual meeting of Suppliers of the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company at Edgecumbe on Thursday.
