TELEPHONE WIRES TAPPED

GERMAN SPIES IN DUBLIN WARNING BY MEMBER OF ULSTER PARLIAMENT A warning that German spies in Dublin may be tapping wires carrying phone messages between Ulsiter nnd London was given in the Tilster Parliament recently "by Mr T. Henderson, when lie supported a demand for a secret session to discuss the matter, states the Overseas Daily Mail. "Phone messages between Belfast and London sometimes pass through Dublin," he said. "Dublin is infested with spies, and they can tap the wires. It is a serious matter." Mr Henderson said he was anxious to raise the question of communications between Belfast and London, arid also the relationship of Eire to the Battle of Britain. "I am given to understand that even the post comes through via Holyhead and Dublin," he said. "Important documents for Northern Ireland are coming through Dublin. "The Eire Government endanger their own people by having the Germans in their midst. But they endanger Ulster, too. "I have a feeling about the Battle of Britain, that part of it iwill take place in Southern Ireland, and you know the conditions which are likely to prevail." Mr Henderson said they wanted better supervision of persons entering Ulster from Eire. "We cannot stand idly by and allow a country which is part of the Commonwealth of Nations to house Italians and German who are ready to attack the people of tliis country at every opportunity." Mr J. M. Andrews, Prime Minister, said he was prepared to consider holding a secret session to discuss certain matters.
