Birds Building Nests. Recent spring weather in the Whakatane district has been reflected in great activity in the bird life, as ob~ servant residents will have noticed. Thrushes have commenced building nests, and country people mention finding nests containing thrushes eggs. All kinds of birds appear to be singing throughout tlie day, apparently as part of the business of mating and building nests.
