SCOTTISH NIGHT'
INGLESIDE AT KING ST. HAUL
ENTERTAINING PROGRAMME!
In spite of the t number of counter attractions which had preceded it the Lnglcside at the King Street Hall on Friday night attracted many couples and the ustaal entertaining programme found all in a receptive mood. The programme commenced with the piping in of the chief, Mr W. J. Simons, and the: programme of old and modern dancing, with items interspersed continued until well after midnight.
The chief of the Caledonian Society acted as M.C. while members of the Pipe Bandj who rendered music for several dances, were in charge of Pipe Major L. Johnson. The music for the dancing was provided by Thompson and Pines orchestra. During the exiling exhibition dances were performed by Misses Isobel Martin and N l . Butler - these proving very popular, while a main feature was the drawing of the competition for a-cake, D. Warburton, of Poroporo, being the fortunate ticket holder.
A Monte Carlo waltz found, all couples on the floor and concluded, with the winners being Miss D. Waldegrave and Mr W. Sisam.
The supper arrangements were at the hands of a capable young ladies committee under the direction of Miss M. Howat.
