MONTHLY MEETING

The monthly meeting of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held on Tuesday 19th. Mrs" Hill presiding over a good ' attendance of members. Mrs Haul tain, from Awakeri, the provincial delegate to the Dominion Conference in Wellington, sjioke on different remits that had-fceen dealt with at the conference. Mrs Haultain also drew the attention of the members to Adult Education that was being brought into 'being and expressed the hope that members would attend the lectures in October when Mrs Johnson would .be touring the Bay.

After thanking Mrs Haultain for her address Mrs Hill distributed wool from the patriotic society among division members for knitting up for

soldiers,

Competitions were won as follows: Print Apron. Mrs Anderson 1, Mrs Hill 2, Mrs Bennett. Pikelets, Mrs Doolan 1, Mrs Anderson 2, Mrs Bennett 3. Flower, Single, Mrs Ar.'lcrson 1, Mrs Mitchell 2, Mrs Hill 3. Double, Mrs Hayward 1, Mrs Marsden 2, Mrs Yeoman 3.
