BACK TO NEBUCHADNEZZAR

RECENT investigations have shown that the common varieties of grass contain larger quantities of a greater, variety of vitamins than any normal human food. At least eleven vitamins have been found to be abundant in diried grass. One result of these findings has been an effort to make palatable human food directly from grass instead of indirectly by feeding it to animals. New Zealand with its vast areas of rich grasslands affords an ideal scope for the experiment on a huge scale; even on the Rangitaiki Plains we may therefore expect to see forage being raised for the human stock.' The idea has naturally enough drawn fire from would-be wits, but it has its possibilities and it may not be so far distant, before we are all eating grass in some form or other, regularly.
