FAREWELL AT KING ST. HALL

WELL ATTENDED RED CROSS

DANCE

Opportunity was taken at the Red Cross dance held in the King Street Hall on Saturday night to bid farewell to several local soldiers who are on leave. His Worship the Mayor (Mr B. S. Barry) and the deputy-Mayor (Mr S. S. Shapley) were present, to make presentations^ Mr Barry expressed the pride which residents felt in the men who were in the fighting forces and to those present extended best wishes for their well being. Mr Shapley also addressed the gathering. Gifts were handed to each of the men present Mrs W. Sullivan making the presentation on behalf of residents of the Borough- and Mrs Shapley on behalf of county residents.
