AWAKERI BRANCH

Mrs Luke presided over a large attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Awakeri W.D.F.U. The. meeting opened by the members repeating the Greed together. The business of the meeting was then dealt with, after which a roll call "Gardening Hints" caused a lot of amusement as'well as giving a lot of helpful hints..

Mrs Martin gave a very interesting gardening talk and answered questions. Mrs Luke proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs Martin and members all joined in hearty ap-« plause to show their appreciation.

Afternoon tea was served the hostesses being Mrs Kilbride, Mrs Mantell and Miss Greenup.

The competition results were, as follows: Best Flower, Mrs Martin 1, Mrs Bloxham 2, Mrs Pricie 3. Marmalade, Mrs Bloxham 1, Mrs Luxton 2, Mrs McGougan 3.
