On Both Friday and Saturday aights the King Street Hall was packed to capacity when the loca) Red Cross Society funds benefitted by the presentation of a concert. The success which attended tho event was indeed well deserved a? the highly diversified programme Indicated the great deal of enthus* lastic work done by the promoters tind the extensive preparations of

From the overture by the Boys'
Band, until the National Anthem the nudience was highly entertained. The first half of the programme was .-■provided by the children ancl tlio standard of their performance was very high throughout, every item t>eing rewarded with enthusiastic applause, while the stage management ensured that not a moment ■was washed one item being followed by another. The talenj displayed by the young folk and the excellence of the costuming gained the admiration of all.
Commencing with a play the see Ond half of the programme way Equally pleasing, sketches, songs ancj -instrumental presentations providing u variety of entertainment which ■Kept the audience in appreciative mood. The programme condoled With a g3 r mnastic display during which two clowns kept the audience well amused hv their antics. Those who rendered the itemii Were: — Operatic Duo: Phyllis and Nelliu -Rivett. Character Sketch-: Jean Armstrong. Tap Dance: Janice Bell. Staircase Dance: Isabel Martin. Vocal Duet: Terry and Calvin -O'Rourke. Pop-Eye the Sailor (Dancc): No~"a Watson. Recitation: Sylvia Sims. Song: Gay Burt. Dance: Barbara Brecken. -Solo! George Paterson. Golliwog Dance: Valerie Hanna. Song: Fonda O'Rourke. Ten Pretty Girls: Jean Armstrong, ißetty Campbell, Margaret Kirk and •'Coy.
Cornet Solo: Len Broadmore. Song and Military Ballet: Terry: Warner and Coy.

Gymnasium: Mr Dixon and Coy
Two artists were unable to provide' their items these being Dt. A. W. Cole Avho was to render a vocal solo find Mr Tony Smith whose contribution was to have been humorous Stems.
