NATIONAL PARTY
CANDIDATES ANNOUNCED FORTY-ONE SELECTED Forty-one candidates to contest seats at the general election have been approved to date by the DoI minion executive of the National! Party. The list includes 22 sitting members, four of whom are serving overseas. They are Brigadier J. Hargest (Awiirua), Lieutenant -T. L. MaeDonald (Mataura), Major A. N., Grigg (Mid-Canterbury), Lieutenant Colonel J. M. Allen (Hauraki). Three sitting members who are this year retiring from politics are the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes (HurunuiJ, Sir Alfred Ranson "(Pahiatua) and jthc Hon. J. G.- Cobbe Mana,watu). The party will not contest seats held by Labour members who are serving, overseas.
