JULY'S WEATHER
A WET MONTH TOTAL TO DATE HIGHER Mr 11. Museutt, reports that rain fell on 13 days of July to total 7.03 inches as against 2.87 in the same month last year. The total to date for the year has reached 30.23 inches, in 1940 at this .stage the figure being 21.92. Wliakatane; saw its: driest Ju'.y «n the year 1922 when less than one inch Avas recorded the register slioaving only .14in, Avhile the Avettest July Avas in 1927 Avhen 10.17 aahs recorded. Increase at Edgecumbe. Edgecumbe experienced a Avetter July than is usual being a large increase on July of 1340. Mr Alex McLean reports that on 10 days; his guage shoAved 8.(59, kui year for the month the recoruing being 2.38 inches. The Avettest day of last month Avas on the 24th Avhen 2.58 inches fell. The total fall for the j-ear to date "is noAV 37.02 inches an increase 1940 Avhich at this stage had produced 29.88 inches in that centre. Edgecumbe experienced 16 frosts this July as against 20 in July in 1940:.^
