Penalty for Absentees. If men directed by the Committee to join the Home Guard failed to attend parades, said Mr EEdwards, chairman of the committee, last week, steps would be taken to see that they did. The commit te received from commanders of Home Guard units a report on men directed to join the organisation, r.nd if a man failed to attend parades voluntarily he ay as compelled to do so.
