£140,000 FOR WAR SAVINGS

What can be accomplished on Jhe War Savings front has been strikingly demonstrated by the employees of the Austin Motor Company, who since last -May have purchased no fewer than 186,052 certificates. This outstanding effort, one cf the best in the country, began wiih the formation of a savings group fo~ employees to purchase certificates by a weekly deduction from wages over a period of 30 weeks. The first cycle took up just over SO.01)0 certificates, and on its completion a second cycle Avas commenced on similar lines with a demand for a further <55,001 certificates. Meanwhile, not content with this commitment. Austin employees have patronised the Official Agency for National Savings, opened Avithin the Avorks, to the extent of 23,000 certificates purchased to date:. Altogether, Austin employees ha\ r e now contributed over £140,000 to the country's war chest.
