Pheasants Liberated. Te Puke members of the Tauranga Acclimatisation Society have liberated 150 pheasantsi in. the Te Puke district. The birds, which were, procured from Ghristchurch,. are stated to be a particularly fine lot and should do much to improve shooting in that district. Pupils in Demsird. "We are quite unable to supply tor positions in industry* and commerce anything like a sufficient number of pupils to meet the demand,' said the headmaster of Wellington College. "For many very attractive posts, offering splendid prospects, no applicants offer themselves. With the depletions caused by enlistments in the various fighting services, employers, must be faced with a tremendous problem in their efforts to fill the gaps; and the development of secondary industries must also be seri«jtisly hampered."
