EDGECUMBE COMMITTEE SUCCESSFUL YEAR CONCLUDES The annual meeting and election of the Edgecumbe Patriotic Committee is to be held on Saturday, 19th July at Bell's Hall at 8 p.m. Tha committee desires that everybody in the district will endeavour to attend armed with useful suggestions lhe corning year. A Balance sheet showing how ovei CIOOO has been raised arid donated to Patriotic activities will be duly presented. Since the lasit list of donations ivas publisihed, the- following donations have been received.: Mr, Mrs and Miss W. J. Simons S3 3s. Miss Matilda MyfTanwy Wilkins 16/2. Mr and Mrs W. C'owie (change for Patriotic shop) £1. Healthy Balance Sheet. The following balance sheet showr ing the workings of the committee is to be presented:— Expenditure. To donations to Inter Zone Committee £925 ss; to donation to Enter Zone Committee (Gala Day) £96 Bs, to Awalteri Quota (Gala Day) £48 4s Id; to Otakiri Quota (Gala Day) £38 lis 2d; to Te Teko Quota (Gala Day) £38 lis/ 2d; to Thornton Quotn (Gala Day) £38 lis 2d; to donation Runnerstrum Raffle £27 6s; to Soldiers Parcels; £8; Excess of Income over Expenditure transferred to accumulated funds £30 Is sd. Income. By donations £571 17s 2d; by Patriotic Shop £208 2s lid; by Socials £136 18s 6d; by Edgecumbe Gala Day £260 5s 7d; by Runnerstrum Raffle £27 6s; by School Donations £23 18s 2d; by Raffles £15 8s 4d; by Interest £G 15s lOd; by Gala Petty Cash 5s 6d. Balance sheet as at 31st May 1941. Liabilities : Shop rent (accrued to 31/5/41) £4 10s; Accumulated funds £30 Is sd. Assets: Cash on hand 9s 4d; Post Office Savings: Account £34 2s Id.
