WEDDING BELLS

RICHARDSON—SHAW A pretty wedding was solemnised recently at St. George's Anglican Church, Whakatane, when Gladys Amelia, only daughter of Mr ami Mrs T. S. Shaw, Awakcri, was mar* ried to Horace Alexander Richardson, second son of Mir and Mrs W. J. Richardson, of Auckland. The Rev. S. G. Caul ton officiated an<J Mrs Fraser was the organist. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride. "Ave Maria" , was beautifully rendered by Mrs Warner of Whakatane. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore » beautiful gown of white ripple georgette fashioned on classical lines with a high neckline. The sleeves and long, train were inse* with panels of Chantilly lace. Her veil ; of tulle fell from a halo of orange blossoms and pearls and she carried a sheath of roses, begonias find maidenhair fern. Attending the bride were her two cousins, Mrs Phyllicr Chudleigh. Matron of Honour ,and Miss Jessie Gorrie, bridesmaid, both of Lower Hutt, Wellington. They were gowned in frocks of mauve ripple georgette trimmetd with voilet velvet sashes. True lovers;,knots ornament ed the skirts. Adorning their hair were topknots of mauve velvet flowers. i They carried bouquets of gold and mauve flowers. The duties of best man was carried out by Mr Maurice Russell, o* Palmerston North, and the grooms* man wast Mtr Trevor Shaw, brothej of the bride. The ushers'were Mr 1 France and Mr Tom Shaw. Following the ceremony a reeep* tion was held in Bell's Hall Edge* cumbe, where Mrs Shaw received v the guests wearing a smart pitt striped black costume, fur stole and hat to tone. A shoulder spray of putumn flowers was' worn. • MrsRichardson worn a smart navy cos. tume, fur stole and hat to match, with a shoulder spray of begonias and maidenhair fern. After the reception the happy couple left by car on a tour north 4 the bride wearing a midnight blu« costume with navy accessories* Mr and Mrs Richardson were th« recipients of many beautiful anil useful presents. They will make their future home at Edgecumbe.
