LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the League was held in Knox Presbyterian Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mi* W. Sullivan presided over a fair attendance. The rules and objects of th« League were read and all members joined in the League Prayer, special prayar for peace and the Lord'j Prayer. An informal talk was then giveo by Miss Greenup of Awalteri on ''Early days in Whakatane." The trials of the pioneers on the taiki swamp were portrayed and the speaker's intermittent humour proved very entertaining to the audience* Mrs Carter then sang two solos "Gouf Blesls this '"lElouse" an<l which were gre&t ly appreciated. Afternoon tea was dispensed by. two members of the committee.
