AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT SHIPBUILDING BOARD'S REPORT Construction of at least 60 standard merchant ships in Australia was suggested as the first objective when the Commonwealth Government appointed a Shipbuilding Board, and after'a survey of resources the Board reported that such a programme presented no insuperable difficulties in spite of heavy demands on ma. chine tools and skilled men.
