The club at Suva will be the social centre of the troops garrisoned on the island. It has bern built on a splendid site made available cy the Fiji Government and besWs having a pleasing appearance insrde and out, offers generous facilities, to the soldier. Prominently associated with the planning of tho building were Lieutenant-Colonel McKiliop, who is well known as Ass ; star.< City Engineer at Wellington, and Lieutenant Hitchcock. At the opening ceiremony the Officer Commanding the troops In expressed gratitude to the National Patriotic Fund Board for making the funds available for the building and paid tribute to the work done on behalf of the troops by residents of Suva, headed by his Lordship Bishop Kempthorne.
