The process of making a five-ply wall board was watched, a start being made where? the logs were barked and the various stages of the process; explained; until the finished article emerged! from the machines. Mr Nordmeyer stated that although he had heard much of the mills from Lieut. Gordon Hultquist he was very impressed with the efficiency and magnitude of the? industry in Whakatane. In the evening the Minister was met by His Worship, the Mayor, while he also received several deputations.
