Sergeant M. Farrell, of Whaltatane, has received notice of his promotion to Senior Sergeant at Wellington. Mr Farrell has as yet no idea as to when he Will be able to leave Wliakatane. Mrs G. Perkins, of Papamoa, has received a letter from Bishop Ger. rard, chaplain to the 2nd N.ZjE'.F., saying that her son, Norman, was killed instantly when a bomb destroyed an ambulance he was clriv ing in Greece. Bishop Gerrard him.self conducted the burial service
