FOUND DROWNED

DEATH OF YOUNG MAN DISCOVERY AT PAROA A single man aged 30 years, - John Hill, was found drowned in - eight inches of water at Paroa • On Friday evening. The body was discovered by Mr Leonard Martin, of Paroa, and on the arrival of the local police it was found that the deceased man's head was resting in about eight inches of water, while the rest of the body was on the turf. An inquest was opened before Mr 1 G. A. Brabant, district coroner, on "Saturday morning and after the evidence of Sergeant Farrell had been heard was adjourned sine die.. Subject to Fits. Sergeant Farrell stated that th" deceased young man had been in the -flistrict for months and had been casual labouring. He was known to be subject lt> • epileptic, fits and liad on several occasions been an inmate of the local - Jiosnital for that complaint. Seizure Indicated The Sergeant continued to say tlia* Hie indications were that the deceased had had a seizure and rolled into the drain his head becoming sub- ■ merged while he Avas unconscious -and suffocation resulting. He had left Mrs E. Hutchins residence at 10 n.m. on Friday with the intention of nttending the Tauranga race meeting And from there visiting Auckland '•'to call on relatives.
