WOMEN'S INSTITUTE

OTAKIRI MEETING The June meeting of the Otakiri Women's Institute was held in the Otakiri Hall on June 4, with a good attendance of members. The president, Mrs Tickner, proposed a vote of thanks to Mesdames Mackrell'and Woods for making the birthday cake for the previous meeting. For the Golden Thread, Mrs Cristall read, from Pioneer Tales, a chapter dealing with Mrs Henry Willjams. ;| The Roll Call, "An Interesting/ Book," met with a good response. In the competitions, Mrs Tickner won the Best Flower 1, 2 and 3, shortbread, Mrs Tickner 1, Mrs Cristall 2, Mrs Whiteside 3, and the best darned sock was won by Mrs Tick-, ner, with Miss: Tunnicliffe 2, and Mrs Higham 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Dunning irul Cristall.
