SENTENCE SUSPENDED
YOUNG MAN IN COURT BICYCLE ILLEGALLY SOLD Having illegally sold a bicycle which he was purchasing under the hire purchase system, Archie H. Newman appeared before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., sit the Whakatane Court yesterday, and having made restitution of the full amount of money was ordered to come up for sentence within twelve months. Sergeant M. Farrell stated that tha young man had purchased the cycle on hire purchase at Tauranga at a price of £10 12(s 6d. He had paid some 29s off this amount and had moved to Whakatane and then had sold the machine to a local dealer for £3 15s, the vehicle being sold again in turn to other people. He added that the young man was married with four children and was an irresponsible type not staying in one position ror long. On this occasion his employer in Whakatane had advanced him sufficient funds to make full restitution, but since the young man had left for another job. In ordering the accused, to cornel up for sentence ivithm twedve month! if called upon the Magistrate stated that thus he would be judged on his future behaviour.
