RETAIL MOTOR TRADE

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION

During recent months a complcle reorganisation of the retail motor trade organisations has been carried out,, and a new organisation has been, formed under the name of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association, which incorporates the following sections of the motor trade : Garage Proprietors.; Petrol Resellers; Tyre, Resellers.; Automotive Engineers; Automotive Electricians and Battery Dealers; Body Traders At a recent meeting of the Do minion Council, Mr J. F. Cousins, who has occupied the position of General Secretary to the New Zealand Garage Proprietors' Association announced his retirement after nearly 24 years.' service. The council appointed Mr G. R. Eklmond of Wellington a« General Secretary of the new organisation and Mr F. A. Knight as Assistant Secretary. Mr Edmond is president of the New Zealand Motor Trades Federation, and has for a number of years been General Manager of Todd Motors Ltd. Mr Knight has been secretary of the New Zealand Petrol Resellers' Association for a number years and also secretary of the New Zealand Motor Trade Federation. It is anticipated that thnr new organisation will bring added strength to the whole motor industry through cut New Zealand.
