What ho, what ho, ma hearties. Settling in again alter so long a trip takes a little doing. Yes I still feel my sea legs getting me, ant} every time I walk down the Strand I get a regular roll on. Well, I suppose all shipmates have got to settle down, {aid you've no idea of the! state of my old cabin, in. the cave on AVhale Island. The, ti-trce had almost grown right over the entrance, and inside I found that half of Butinsky's family had taken over and had camped in there from the day I left. I can tell you, I had regular job putting them out, and in the end called up the services of my old friend, who told them in plain goat language, just what he thought of them. Since then I been cleaning up. Well I thought I had seen some, pretty dirty places in the, course of our tour, but this just about beats all I know. I am now tiying io polish up my super magnifying telescope, by which me thod I am enabled, to sec you all and learn of everything that goes on in Whakatane. Its a job, but I'll soon have it in order and next week I'm going to tell you all what I thought of tha School Competitions. Yes. 1 have been talking them over "with Butinsky and he thinks that we should have had a special ticket to get in free. Being Scottish he doesn't believe in paying any more than I do if I can get out of ;t. Well that's enough for now. Byte, bye, till next week. Your'.s as ever Peter the Whaler.
A GOOD GAME UPS AND DOWN Here is a good paper game. The players are divided into two teams. Then cach player writes the letters of a given word down the side of a piece of paper, and then writes them upwards opposite to the first letters, so that the beginning and the final letters of the word lie opposite each other with a space between, and so on. During a given number of minutes the players fill in the spaces with letters so as to make words. When time is up, ench player in turn gives the meaning only of his first word, while the others try to guess what the word is. Each player who makes a first correct guess scores a point for his side. Then the second words are described in turn in the same way, and so on until the game is finished. JOKE CORNER Teacher: "Now, Jones, define exercise."
