MAORI MISSION
PRESBYTERIAN CONFERENCE
The annual meeting of the Maori 'Mission Workers' Conference, wan this year held in that icleal spot Ohope Beach, in the Bay of Plenty Bible Class buildings. The number; 1 , attending were not so large as usual, "but the true spirit of the gathering made, it a very happy and helpful conference. Not only do the Mission workers •attend this conference, but also re presentative Maoris from the different Mission Stations. The meeting! are, therefore, addressed in both thi "Maori and English languages. The principle speakers this year in th<*. English language were the Very Rev 'Geo. McNe.ur, of Canton, China, •and the Very Rev. Geo. Rudd., of Auckland. Those speniking in Maori were Revs. J. G. Laughton, H. Nikora, J. Currie and Sister Edith. The sports gathering was held on '-Saturday afternoon, the cup being won by the Bay of Plenty sector. The camp concert took on Sat'urday evening. There was av largo attendance, and a most enjoyable programme was provided. The Commissariat was again m the very capable hands of Sister May, of Nuhaka. and her helpers, •and the service rendered was such •as called forth many expressions ot -appreciation. As in the past, so again this year, the conference was -a very helpful time, and the workers went back to their Stationsmany of them in lonely places— much refreshed from meeting with their fellow workers, and the feljsw•ship enjoyed together. "
