Ewe killings now show a decrease of 250,885 carcases compared wit!* the previous season, the current total being 1, 382,949. Weithers have declined by 623,805 the killings this season totalling 540,447. Details of lamb and mutton production to May '6, with the corresponding figures for the previous! season (to May 4) m parentheses are as follows:— North Islaiid Wether mutton (C/cs) 469,761 (1, 039,989)? Ewe'mutton (C/cs) 868,790 (1,117,001>\ Lamb (C/cs) 5.279,293 (4,941 891) South Island Wether mutton (C/cs) 70,686 ( 124,263)1 Ewe mutton (C/cs) 514,159 ( 516,743)' Lamb (C/cs) 4,613,115 4,292403)? Frozen beef production has reach-* ,ed 441,687 quarters compared witfo 325,178. Porker killings (145,202 in the North Island, and 4791 in the South)f total 149,993, showing an increase of 93,668 carcases.. Baboner killings were as follows: North Island 286, -v 819 (compared with 285,263); South; Island 9689 (10,631) an increase this season of 614 carcases; Killings of choppers total 10,206 being an increase of 249.
