CONTROL OF PETROL ABUSE'S IK THE SOUTH Some surprise was caused in tho Ghristchurch Magistrate's Court the other day when, during the hearing of a charge of stealing petrol, one of the defendants mentioned that he had made a four-day trip to the West Coast with his car and htul been issued with a special license for five gallons of petrol to enable him to return to Ghristehurch. "There is something wrong with the oil fuel control somewhere," re> marked Detective-Sergeant J. Me* Clung, who was cross-examining the defendant.
