NOMINATIONS REJECTED POSITION OF HARBOUR BOARD Through a technical oversight the nominations of two Borough representatives on the Whakatane Harbour Board Messrs G. A. Brabant and N. M. Carter,, were 1 rejected. The position now is that Mir Gordon R. Kent is elected unopposed, being the sole nominee for the two vacancies, and one' seat on the Board stil! requires to be filled. Nothing can, be done to remedy the matter until the Harbour Board holds its next meeting, when to adjust matters the board may appoint another member providing the consent of thei Governor-General is obtained, or alternatively can hold a further election.
