SCOUT NOTES

WHAKATANE TROOP Scout motto "Be Prepared." 'Tins motto means that the scout must always prepare: himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act in any accident or emergency, so that he is. nevor tnften by surprise." Under the supervision of tha Scoutmaster the Troop held a successful meeting on Monday evening. The presence of a large group of new recruits is evidence of the very healthy state of the life of t.lie troop. We are; indebted to Mr Bishop for his lecturei in ambulance to the boys. There is great interest shown in the work and, when the course is complete any sicout who has been, passed will "be prepmed" to. act usefully in the community should the occasion arise. An introduction to First Class scout -work by an advanced group and the preparation of boys for their enrolment as Tenderfeet was also included in the evening's activities.
