PUBLIC NOTICES SOCIAL SECURITY CONTRIBUTION AND NATIONAL SECURITY TAX Charge on Income other than salary or wages : May instalment • The first quarterly instalment of the combined Social Security and National Security charge of 2/- in the £ on income other than salary or -wages derived during the year ended, 31st March, 1941,, falls due on Ist May. The charge is payable by : (a) All persons aged: 1(5 years or over ordinarily resident in New Zealand (including natives but excluding persons receiving total disability war pensions). (b) AH companies, ether than those specifically exempted. (c) All trustees in respect of Trustees' income, i.e. income derived, by such trustees which no beneficiary is entitled to receive during the income year. Declarations of such income must be furnished in May on form S.S,C. 55, in accordance; with the instructions thereon. If no income other tham salary or wages; was derived, a declaration marked "Nil" must be furnished. Declaration forms are obtainable at all Money-order offices. Persons who fail t<> furnish declarations as and when -required are liable, on summary conviotion, to a fine of £50. Amounts unpaid within one month of the due date incur 10 per cent penalty. Social Security' Registration Fee : An instalment of this feci (5/-) is payable, on Ist May, 1911 by all persons aged 1(> j'ears or over ordinarily resident in .New Zealand, who are not, exempt. Exemption details and forms may be obtained at MoiKT-ordejr offices. Every person entitled to exemption (including those receiving Age BeneliLs under the Social Security Act but no other income) must complete the 1 exemption application form and present it with his or her coupon-book at a Money-order office within seven days after the last day for payment of the instalment, otherwise payment may be demanded. Full name and postal address must be entered on the relative coupon before payment of any instalment. An employer employing for more than seven days a person unregistered or in arrear witJi the Registration fee is liable on summary conviction to a fine of £20.
