EXPORT KILLINGS FOR SIX MONTHS Export killings at the Dominion's freezing works from Ist October to 29th March last, show a total of 8,782,647 freight carcases, which according to the official statement of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, is 1,223,141 in excess of killings in the corresponding period of the previous season to the nearest comparable date. North Island production Avasi 6.073,789 freight catcases, compared with 5,464,854 and South Island 2,708,858 compared with 2,094,652 in the pervious season to March 30, 1940. Lamb killings have reached ittotal of 8,522,986 or 1,193,759 carcases above that of the previous season. Ewe killings have increased by 198,104 carcases to a total of 1,279,521 but there Avas a dccline or 339,812 in killings of AA'cthers, this season's total being 490,772.
