BOY SCOUT RALLY
EVENT AT TAURANGA WHAKATANE TROOP ATTENDS The annual rally of Bay of Plenty Scouts was held at Tauranga on Saturday, April 5, Avhen 175 Scouts and Cubs paraded and competed for the Boyd Cup, Tiki Trophy and Bowyer Shield. The local troop of Scouts and Cub Pack competed in all events and with creditable results. The parade state was as follows: Scouts. Tauranga 22, under S.M. Grinder and N. Cannell. Whakatane 22, S.M. Lucas. Te Pulce 39, A.S.M, Shepherd. Paengaroa 13, T.L. J. Shepherd. Onepu 14, A.S.M. Briggs. Cubs. Tauranga 20, C.M. Miss Bamberry and Miss Murdoch. Tc Puke 24, C.M. Miss Fagan. Whakatane 27, G.M.'s Blythe and
Norris. The judges for the various events AA'ere :—• Ambulance: Mrs Faulkner. March Past and Inspection: Ser-geant-Major Loaa'C and Sergeant Norris. Signal Tower and Trestle Building: Commissioner Southon. Signalling; Messrs McKtunon and Peterson. Cub Competitions: Miss Adams and Mr Allen. Results. The folloAA'ing are the detailed results:— Inspection: Onepu 1, W T hakatane and Tauranga equal 2, Paengaroa and Te Puke equal '3. March Past: Whakatane 1, Paengaroa 2, Tauranga 3, Onepu 4, Te Puke 5. Signal ToAver: Tauranga 1, Whakatane 2, Paengaroa 3. Ambulance: Onepu 1, Tauranga and Paengaroa 2, Te Puke 3, Whakatane 4. Trestle Building: Tauranga 1, Onepu 2, Te Puke 3. Signalling: Tauranga 1, Whakatane 2, Paengaroa 3. Wall Scaling: Tauranga 1, Onepu 2, Paengaroa 3, Whakatane 4, Tc Puke 5. In the aggregate Tauranga Avon the Boyd Cup Avith 76 points, with Onepu 48 2, Paengaroa 47 3, Whakatane 41 4, and Te Puke 32 5. Onepu Avon the Tiki Trophy for ambulance competition with' 15 points, Paengaroa 12 and Tauranga 12 2, Te Puke 6, Whakatane 3. In the Cub Competition Te Puke Avon the Bowyer Shield Avith 37 points, Whakatane being 2 Avith 33 and Tauranga 3 with 32 points.
