In the report of a court case where a man was fined for barri" cading a gate on a public road which appeared in our last issue the defendant was a farm labourer employed by Mr H. A. Wardlaw, and not a sharemilker employed by Mr T. W. Wardlaw as stated. Housewife Alarmed. A local housewife received a shock recently when engaged in making pear ginger. She had the ingredients cooking on the stove and, leaving the stove for a few minutes to perform another household task, was alarmed on her return to find thousands of bees in the kitchen. It was impossible to enter the room without being stung by the bees, and it was found necessary to use smoke to drive the insects outside. Inconsiderate Motorists. Travellers on the Rotorua-VWha-katane main highway during the holidays stated that their attention was arrested by the number of empty beer bottles on the road, one motorist stating that he counted no less than three dozen bottles. This habit is a most dangerous and inconsiderate one and it was apparent that the people responsible had taken no care as to whether the glass was lefl on the roadway or not.

A member of a fishing party on the* Port Whakatane on Sunday hooked a shark of about three or four feet in length p.nd was successful in bringing it aboard. This was not accomplished, however, until the vigorous fish had put up a good fight during which it shot alongside the launch and "collected?' every line out, and caused the party to spend some considerable time untangling their tackle. Reduce without taking thyroid. Bonkora contains no dangerous drugs. Get some to-day. F. G. Macklow, Chemist, Whakatane.
