EDGECUMBE SUB-CENTRE Forty members were present at the opening parade at Edgecumbe Hall on Wednesday last. Physical training under the capable instruction of Miiss Plaice, Miss Rati iff and Miss O'Shca occupied the first part of the evening. & Mr G. Wilson, Area Commander of the Home Guard, addressed the members stressing the importance of the W.W.S.A„ and the necessity for discipline, and gave helpful advice to instructors. Mr Fowell then gave a short course of military drill.

Such an enthusiastic gathering at the first parade augers well for the future of the W.W.S.A. in Edge-

cumber MEETING AT WAIMANA At a public meeting convened by Mrs H. Ward law on Wednesday, March 26, it was decided to form a sub-committee of the Women's War Service Auxiliary in Waimana. Mrs Wardlaw and Mrs Woolfield spoke of the aims and objects of the move ment and all present expressed their desire to help. The following committee was elected :—Mrs H. Wardlaw (chairman); Mrs J. Wardlaw (secretary); Mrs Gallagher, Mrs Wylde and Mrs C. White. The secretary was instructed to write to Dr Marka regarding First Aid training and to find out about d&\e mechanics classes for the transffert. • ' It was decided to start with drill on Saturday, March 29.

On March 29, 40 women nnd girls met in the grounds of the Waimana school where two drill squads were put through their paces by Miss Wragge and Mrs K. Bell.

The Waimana Girls' Committee have offered to hold a dance on Easter Monday in aid cf the W.W.S.A. funds. This offer has been much appreciated by the W.W.S.A. committee.
