Attire of Home Guards. Finding that the men's own clothes were becoming worn by the exercises which the unit carries out at week-ends, officers of the One Tree Hill, Auckland, company of the Home Guard made their men an offer at a parade of a working dress at a cost of £1 each., It is stated that over 90 per cent of the men on parade accepted the opportunity of protecting their civilian clothes until such time as the promised issue of territorial Force uniforms is made to all guardsmen. The proposed working dress was offered as the result of the interest of several city business men. and the sample dis-» plaj'ed at the parade is stated to have been excellent for the purpose, while the cheapness made it still more attractive.
