CAPTAIN OF RAIDER
The Shipping Review, published in Shanghai, prints the story of a Norwegian seaman, who asserts that the commander of one Nazi raider is none other than Count von Luckner. The extract reads ;—-
"A Norwegian seaman, -whose story is for the first time disclosed, though he passed through Hongkong two weeks ago, declared that when the ship on which he Avas seeing, a Norwegian vessel, Avas captured by a German South Sea raider, the latter Avas flying a blue ensign. He later Avitncssed the capture of another Nonvegian tanker, and a British ship Avhieh put up a fight and was finally sunk.
"Lnter the commander of the raider, Count von Luckner, known tlie Sea Devil in the Great War. paraded the British and Norwegian crews, and expressed regret over the loss of life, declaring it was the fortunes of Avar. "The Norwegian described the raider as being Avell armed. The captives were treated well and were given the same food as the Germans. Some were finally landed at n Japanese port, but the British crew was kept on board,"
