RURAL HOUSING
SUBSIDY PERIOD EXTENDED GOVERNMENT'S DECISION Notification to the effect that the Government, with a view to meeting the existing situation, has now decided to extend the availability of the rural subsidy. The letter states that through various circumstances it is not possible for a number of county councils to deal with all the applications for loans before the end of the year and consequently the applicants would not be eligible for the subsidy under the existing authority. To meet the situation the Government has now decided to extend the availability of the subsidy to the extent that any application lodged on or before March 31, 1941, with a country council and approved by that body by the passing before June 30 of the same year of a formal resolution embracing .certain requirements, will be eligible for a subsidy. It is stated that this is subject to no undue delay occurring in the commencement of the construction of the dwelling after June 30.
