CROQUET
VISIT TO TE FUKE
At the invitation of the Te Puke Croquet Club eight Whakatane players journeyed by train to T'e Puke on Wednesday, Mlarch 12. At the station they were welcomed by the President and conveyed to the lawns where a delicious - morning tea awaited them. Friendly 'games were played in the morning and progressive croquet in the afternoon in which Mrs Hellyar (Whakatane) and Mrs Fox (To Puke) tied for r> win with Mrs Loane (Whakatane) and Mrs Cassin (Te Puke) tying for the runners-up. The visitors were liospitablj r entertained to lunchcon and afternoon tea at the pavilion, and despite the showery Aveather a very enjoyable day was spent. In thanking ihe Te Puke ladies Mrs Shaw, President of the Whakatane Club, extended to them a very hearty invitation to return the visit.. Reduce without taking thyroid.
