PERSONAL
The Rev. C. P. Lucas, who for the past two years has been Methodist Church minister in Whakatane, h#is been appointed to take charge of the Huntly district. He will be replaced in this town by the Rev. Mr Thomas, who will be taking up his first charge after leaving the Trinity Training College. Sergt.-Major Charles Garthon Buckworth, D.C.M. eldest son of Mr C. M. Buckworth for many years a resident of Whakatane* is again with the army in Egypt and is with his regiment at Ca;ro. He left New Zealand with the 12th Contingent in the last war, was wounded twice (once severely), but remained with his regiment. He received the decoration of D.C.M. shortly before the conclusion of the war. Sergt-Major Buckworth'received some of his education at the Whakatane School under Mr F. Booth then headmaster. He enlisted immediately the present war was •declared and left with the Third Echelon.
