PLAY ON LOCAL GREENS FORBES GUP The Forbes' Cup played for annually between teams representing Opotiki, OpotLki Citizens, Taneatua and Whakatane, Avas again competed for on Saturday last on tlie local greens, with Whakatane the holders. Some good games were witnessed and the Gup went to Taneatua who thoroughly earned it. The game between Taneatua and Opotiki in particular was good, and evenly matched, being all square on the last end, an extra end being played which was killed. In the next end Taneatua made no mistake and ran out the winners. The final produced some good bowling although Taneatua easily won on the score. Half Day Tournament A half-day Progressive Pairs Tournament was held at the week-end and attracted 32 entries and a very enjoyable game was had. Three players-—Bullard, Bath and Cole tied with 4y 2 wins each in the leads section, the finals finding Bath the winner after some excellent howling. Bullard 1, Bath 7, Cole 6, Bath 8.
