Mr and Mrs Douglas, of Pohonui, Taihape, Avere visitors to Ohope this week. Mr Douglas many years ago farmed in the Waimana Gorge and was renewing old acquaintances.

AdA r ice has been received that the death has occurred at an Auckland private hospital of Mrs Ruddick, wife .of Mr R. Ruddick, of Taneatua. A full obituary will appear in our next issue.

Constable F. Fuller left for Wellington this week to take up duty as Sergeant. The vacancy at the local station has been filled by the arrival of Constable G. Urquhart, of Gisborne. Mr and Mrs Urquhart arrived* on Wednesday.
