BIG-GAME FISHING

LARGEST MARLIN OF PRESENT SEASON Fishing from the launch Tui off Maj T or Island during, tlie week-end, Mr H. Turner, of Tauranga, succeeded in landing a swordfish weigliing 341 pounds. This is the heaviest fish caught so far this season.

Another member of the party, IVIr W. A. Paterson, caught a swordfish weighing 283 pounds.

Mr Turner's fish was foul-hooked near the pectoral fin, and put up a dour struggle which lasted for vin hour and a half. Mir Paterson's fish also fought well, taking about an hour to land. The party reports having sighted a number of fish. Mr Turner was successful in catching the heaviest sword fish in these waters last season, and is the present holder of the Ebbett Cup, that fine trophy which goes each season to the person who lands the biggest striped marlin. The fish which Avon the cup for Mr Turner last season weighed 362 pounds.
