DRAW FOR WEEK-END Tim following is the draw for competition matches to be played at the week-end-:— Paroa v P. and T. at tlic Domain; Central v Tanealna at Tancatua. The first challenge of the season for the Williams Cup was played at the week-end between Te Puke (holders) and Pongakawa. The game resulted in rather an eas\ r win for Te Puke, although at one stage of the match they were in difficulties. When the first six Te Puke wickets had fallen for only 30 runs, it looked as if a close finish might result. However, with the advent of R. Valder, who knocked up a nice 44, Te Puke put up a respectable score. Pongakawa were unable to musfei more than 44 runs, thus leaving Te Puke the victors by the comfortable margin of 77 runs.
