PARADES TO COMMENCE

ADVANCED EXERCISES

The first parade of 1911 of local members of the Ist Battalion of the Hauraki Regiment is to be held on the football ground, Whakatane, on Saturday at 1.30 p.m., in charge of Captain J. W T . Wilson.

The intensive training undergone

by the troops at the recent camp at Te Aroha is to be continued the men being Avell up to the standard required and ready to carry on with the work which from now on will be of an advanced nature.

The local members form two platoons and the instruction to be commenced will be in location training and field crafl, for the purposes of the latter the men being required to take part in tactical exercises which will entail their making a study of manoeuvres suitable for the terrain in this locality.
