THE SUMMER SHOW
ON Wednesday, February 19th, the Whakatane and Rangitaiki Agricultural and, Pastoral Association will hold its annual show. The event as all farmers realise is being promoted under greater difficulties than last year and it is therefore the duty of all who can to give it the patronage it deserves. Carrying on, in the face of war conditions, is harder for an organisation of this nature than most people imagine. In fact the summer show demands a much greater effort as far as farmers are concerned, than the well known winter fixture. In the midst of the dairying season, faced with the labour problems ruling, and endeavouring to meet the need foP greater production, farmers cannot be expected to make the time for preparing animals for show. On the other hand it v does not exclude towns people from giving the show all possible assistance, in fact, the difficulties confronting the farmer should actually give the event a, wider appeal, and we are confident that this will be the case in Whakatane.
