AMONG £2,605,281 WORTH OF BOOKS EXPORTED IN WAR TIME
Shakespeare and the Bible remain the "best sellers" in the vast total of £2,605,281. worth of books sent overseas, despite the paper shortage, by British publishers during the first nine months of 1940.
Australia was easily the biggest purchaser with the United States second, and South Africa, Eire, Canada, India and New Zealand all high in the list.
England's largest bookbinding .firm is sending huge weekly shipments oil' to Enipire countries, notably to South Africa, Canada and New Zealand. They have not lest a single book.
